Recent Projects
Ringrose Park Mural
During the summer and fall of 2023, artists from Metrographics completed the new mural in our downtown walkway. It was a pleasure watch this art come to life over the course of the late summer. Fundraisers were held including a BBQ and sponsorships from local citizens and businesses supporting the final cost of this wonderful piece of art.
On the left: a pair of brilliant blue mountain bluebirds near a farm fenceline, crops behind. The nesting box (a nod to Alberta’s conservation program) provides a visual divider/ transition for the centre image. Centre: Two red-tailed hawks drift in a vast, cloud-studded sky. The depth of this vista provides a nice contrast between the flanking images: dense farmland and a bustling creek. On the right: the creek running through Willow Creek campground (Stavely Elks Campground) In the foreground, a dramatic swoop of swallows.
Community Centre Upgrades
As part of a multi-phase project plan to make improvements to the Claresholm Community Centre, the Claresholm Arts Society has invested $150,000 in grant funding to improve the stage lighting, main hall projector and sound system, new stage grid and curtains along with many other improvements. We are proud to support this community space.
Casa Roma Mural
Claresholm Arts Society partnered with a local highway restaurant, Casa Roma Restaurant, to create a graffiti mural on their wall promoting the arts and town of Claresholm. We partnered in the cost, brought a mural artist to Claresholm from Medicine Hat (Jeff Goring) and added a great feature to view as you drive by or stop for lunch. This stop spot can be seen on many Instagram posts and Facebook pages, promoting the town for many to see!
